cuticle & not the homologues
of the so-called crystalline
lenses of compound eyes -
And I cannot say that
the evidence <s>brought forward <\s> adduced
upon this head is perfectly
satisfactory -
As respects the compound
eyes - the memoir appears to
me to add nothing to
what is already known -
nor does the author attempt
to grapple with the many
