
Mr. Gosse’s memoir does not seem to me to contain a sufficient number of new & important facts to justify its publication in the Transactions of the Royal Society. And even were the observational value of the paper greater - many of its authors views and statements appear to me to be open to very important objections I will proceed to state these at some length in justification of my opinion that the paper should not be published
