                                1. The term “interseptal fossa” is applied by 
Mr Gosse to the intermesenteric chamber -
inconveniently, because the term septum 
is properly applied in the Actinozoa only 
to the radiating plates of a Corallite 
2. At p.14. Cyathina smithii is termed a madrepore 
- the genus Cyathina belonging to a group 
perfectly distinct from the Madreporidae 
3. At p.15. Mr. Gosse in endeavouring to prove 
that the emission of the thread of the thread-cell or capsule 
is the “result of a vital force” affirms that his 
<s>the <\s> compression does not “exert the least 
direct force upon the walls of the capsule itself”
- nevertheless he goes on to say that 
the irritability which he supposes to reside
