                                the “Times” critic could have 
had if I had left the obvious 
peculiarities of the meteorological 
procedure to be gibbeted by him 
as adopted by the expedition in the 
absence of expert knowledge, unnoticed 
by the Office and accepted as 
normal by the Royal Society!!
As it is all that there is 
left for him to do is to congratulate 
the observers while abusing the 
management as he would have done 
in any case.
