of 15% on the fifth day, of 21% on the sixth
day and of 30% on the the 7 th day. On the
eighth day the capsule had burst.
The pH of the Ringer's solution used was 8.2.

Ox lenses immersed for shorter periods
in various dilutions of Ringer's solution, showed
scarcely appreciable differences in their behaviour
when in capsules, and without capsules, they
gained 4 1/2% in one hour and 6% in two
hours in all strengths used.

4 <u>The reaction of the aqueous humour.</u>
Seven rabbits were killed by a blow on the head and the aqueous humour was drawn
off immediately. Two observations of the pH were
made in the Dale and Evans comparators. The
results were 7.85 and 7.9.

Observations by the indicator method of the pH of
the aqueous humour withdrawn from the eyes of
dogs immediately after anaesthetisation gave
results of 8.0, 7.9, 8.0.
