cell interposed. It became definitely opalescent
in half an hour. A solution exposed with
water interposed under the same conditions
also became opalescent in half an hour.
A solution of lens albumen before which a dilute solution of [text?] was interposed remained
clean throughout the exposure which lasted an hour.

Solutions of lens albumen exposed to
the radiation with the capsule of a lens or
a lens without its capsule interposed,
exhibited no change in an hour.

Glucose to 5% was added to solutions
of lens albumen, the mixture having a
pH of 7.8. Two tubes of the mixture were
kept in room daylight for three hours,
and then in the dark for three days. At
the end of that time, they were found to
contain a heavy flocculent precipitate. Two
other tubes were given during the daylight
