
These observations will be useful in filling up (as far as they go) the Magnetic survey of this part of India and determining the present position of the Magnetic Equator and possess a further interest as affording a compari son with a similar series taken some years since by Messrs Taylor and Caldicott by which the progres- sive changes of the Dip especially may be satisfactorily determined, I have the honor to be Sir Your most obedient servant J.E.
