Spouse: 1) Kate (d. 1898), daughter of William Brand, a landowner, and widow of Arthur Jackson, a composer and teacher at the Royal Academy of Music (1887) 2) Mrs Mary Emlen Lloyd (d. 1975), daughter of John Lowell of Boston, Massachusetts (1924) Hereditary titles: Assumed title of Earl of Berkeley (1888) and established his right to the peerage (1891).
