Description

Paper reference code: B.51

Apologies for the delay in responding about Gray's paper. Cannot find a written reference for the points made about propulsion, even though everyone he has spoken with "seemed to know it as a thing so obvious as to be beyond discussion". Does not believe the paper needs several pages to explain this, and disagrees with the paper's claim that previous authors had not understood the principle.

[Not published in Royal Society journals, but in The Journal of Experimental Biology, edited by James Gray, vol. 10, issue 1, pp. 88-104, 1933].

Received 19 October 1932.
