Description

No clear statement regarding publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. The paper is a corrected copy of a previous submission. Finds some sections to be worthy of publication in the Philosophical Transactions,whereas others are not suitable for publication either there or in the Proceedings. Refers to work by Gibson [?], Barclay [?], John Hopkinson and James Clerk Maxwell. Finds some of the experimental method to be unsatisfactory.
