Travers strongly refutes all the referees' objections, stating they belong to the 'Oxford school' rather than the 'old-fashioned experimental school' that Travers is part of. He disagrees that free radicals are involved in the decomposition of hydrocarbons and suggests the opinion of a referee supportive to his ideas is sought.
