Description

Sectional Committee: Physics

Recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London'. Communicated by William Lawrence Bragg. A paper by Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman on a similar paper was recently accepted, and in view of this, the author has prepared a further account which clears up some of Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman's misunderstandings. John David Griffith Davies suggests that, as the paper has been guaranteed by William Lawrence Bragg, could the paper be passed without referee? If so, the paper can appear alongside that of Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman. James Chadwick agrees'.

Summary of the paper is included.
