Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. The paper forms a sequel to a previous one by John Marshall, also published in the Philosophical Transactions. The reader's attention should be drawn to figure 25 which shows shrinkage of the specimen, when discussing the general form of the brain.
