Recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London'. Refers to work by William Arthur Bone and Reginald P Fraser. A previous criticism by Wheeler, and deemed insufficient by the present referee, was published by the Chemical Society. The present paper is an answer to that criticism. The paper is a good record of the point of difference between different researchers.
