Recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London'. 'I think the author might be told (as a quotation from a referee's report) that it is a disrespectful to the Society, and confusing to the referees and the printers, to submit a manuscript written on scraps of old examination papers and full of corrections and erasures'.
