Description

No clear statement regarding publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Paper is a continuation of an earlier series of researches into the Myriapoda, published in the Philosophical Transactions in 1841. Report suggests a different type of animal may have been more suitable for comparable invertebrate experiments, such as round worms. Quotes from Karl Friedrich Burdach, Allen Thomson, 'Rud. Wager' [?] and Karl Georg Friedrich Rudolph Leuckart. Refers to work of Theodor Ludwig Wilhelm Bischoff, Pierre Prévost and Jean Baptiste André Dumas, and Martin Barry. Provides a comprehensive list of criticisms and recommendations.
