Referee's report by William Henry Eccles, on two papers 'The distribution of the magnetic field and return current round a submarine cable carrying alternating current.—Part 1' by Charles V Drysdale and 'The distribution of the magnetic field and return current round a submarine cable carrying alternating current. —Part 2' by S Butterworth

Reference number: RR/28/124

Date: August 1923

Description

Sectional Committee: Physics

Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Suggests the first paper could be condensed to remove verbose language. The theory of similitude mentioned in the first paper should also be mentioned in the second. The second paper could have been briefer if written for mathematicians rather than physicists, but does not recommend any alteration.

[Both papers published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Societt A, 1924]

Endorsed on verso as received 2 August 1923.
