Description

Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Refers to work of Pierre Simon Laplace. The most important part of the paper deals with analytical modification. Considers the conclusion to be erroneous, but this does not affect the value of the analysis.

Appended note states that parts of the report have been sent to the author. Dated 6 May 1841.
