Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions.

[This paper was eventually published in 1892, almost fifty years after these reports were made. The reason for this long delay is given in the abstract of the published paper - 'Most unfortunately the abstract printed at the time gave no adequate idea of the scope of the memoir, and still less of the nature of the results arrived at'].
