Description

Paper is not recommended for publication by the Royal Society. Does not know if criticisms from the first submission have been passed to the authors, but they do not seem to have been taken on board in the newly submitted versions of the paper. Conclusions are not worthy of publications until further investigation has been carried out. Suggests the experiments should have used much larger quantities of plant material. Suggests the paper should be sent to another society, but doubts that the Chemical Society would print more than an abstract. Feels the Royal Society should not 'adopt a lower standard for its Proceedings'.
