Description

Sectional Committee: not stated.

Newall thinks the paper 'the spectrum of Xandium and its relation to celestial spectra' should be published in the Proceedings. On page three, it would be well to have a statement as to whether the grating was by Rowland, also as to the size of ruled space, radius, size of photographic plate, and scale of photograph. Some expense might be saved in printing if in the tables at the end, the repetition of the first two figures in each wavelength were avoided.

The paper on the stellar lines near lambda 4686 should be published in the 'Proceedings'. Perhaps the author's would see no objection to omitting sentences indicated by square brackets on pages two and three, as they do not seem absolutely necessary.

Regarding the third paper, 'note on the spectrum of the Centauri[?]', Newall queries whether it better be communicated to Pickering as it deals with details seen in a reproduction of one of Pickering's photographs, and not with original photographs.
