Memoranda from Robert William Frederick Harrison, and reply from Joseph Larmor, on a paper 'An account of the pendulum observations made at Kew and Greenwich Observatories in 1903' by Gerald Ponsonby Lenox-Conynham

Reference number: RR/16/337

Date: 28 July 1905

Description

Dyson's report on Lenox-Conyngham's paper is enclosed, with the report of the first referee, Sir W Niven, for Larmor's information [no attachments]. Aks if Larmor will minute his instructions as to the further action to be taken regarding this paper. In a reply dated 14th August, Larmor states this paper is suited to the Indian[?] Survey Memoirs as a detailed description of a determination for the survey. It has not been customary to print such work in the Philosophical Transactions otherwise each new survey would claim the same privilege and there would be no limit to the mass of material. The abstract with slight expansion if desired, is all that would be wanted for general scientific purposes.
