Description

Sectional Committee: Physiology

The Committee must decide if the subject of the paper is sufficient to warrant publication in Philosophical Transactions. It would be of no value without its tables. The text only seems to join the tabular statements. The absence of any evidence of contact experiments, and the determination not to consider the number of the nerve cells or the form they assume at various segmented levels robs the paper of much of the interest that would otherwise belong to it. In general the results obtained by what must have been a 'cruelly laborious task', are small compared with the toil and trouble expended.
