The author's theoretical point of view seems to vary somewhat with a tendency to adapt itself to the statistical data immediately under view. The results obtained as to seasonal and diurnal variation are somewhat contradictory and do not seem to justify definite conclusions. The author's interpretations of the theory of probability are hardly in accordance with the ordinary standpoint. The failure to establish lunar tidal effects from the Tokyo data as a whole does not seem satisfactorily explained. Discusses the sources of the author's Japanese data, remarks on Professor Omori's data in some detail.
