Referee's report by George Henry Darwin, on a paper 'Data for the problem of evolution in man VI. A first study of the correlation of the human skull' by Alice Lee and Karl Pearson

Reference number: RR/15/78

Date: 15 August 1900

Description

Sectional committee: Mathematics

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions in full and without modification. Referee does not think himself a competent judge of the subject from a craniological point of view. The problem is interesting and affords an examples of Pearson's methods of treating statistics, and the methods are sound as far as he can tell. Although he has read all Pearson's papers hitherto, he does not feel he possess a competent knowledge of the subject. Asks if the author intends 'Cuvier' by 'Curvier'.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions A, 1901].

Endorsed on verso as received 16 August 1900.
