Letter from Harold Baily Dixon, on a paper 'Chemical dynamics and statics in light' by Meyer Wilderman to Joseph Larmor

Reference number: RR/15/401

Date: 17 March 1902

Description

Sectional Committee: not stated.

He meant to convey to the Committee that the paper should be written out in proper form before publication in Philosophical Transactions. Publication of the long abstract in the Proceedings will secure priority until the amended paper is ready. A glance at the manuscript will convince Larmor of the necessity of re-writing the paper before it is put in Transactions. He would like to see the author repeat one of his series in the light of the criticisms he has made. The apparatus could easily be improved.

Notes he has a long paper he wishes to bring before the Society on the photography of explosions. It wants a lot of illustration and he is getting Swan to make the plates. He hopes the Society will employ Swan to do the illustrations if the paper is accepted.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions A, 1902].
