Description

Sectional Committee: Zoology

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, in full. It is an excellent piece of work and a distinct advance in knowledge. The author has made great progress in method and style since his last paper on the development of Asterina gibbosa, and leaves little doubt in the mind of the reader that his general conclusions are correct. The amply corroborated proof of the primitive segmentation of the coelom in Echinoderms, of the existence of a rudimentary right hydrocoel, and of the origin of the sexual glands, will attract the attention of zoologists.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions B, 1903].
