Description

Sectional Committee: Botany

In answer Farmer thinks the paper more suitable for publication in book-form than in Philosophical Transactions. The paper consists of a lengthy critical discussion and is largely made up of an examination of results in literature. It contains many original observations. If published at all in Philosophical Transactions, it should be published in full. If published, suggests the researches of [Johann Adam Otto] Bütschli should also be dealt with, as they are intimately connected with the issues which form the main thesis of the memoir. If published all the illustrations should be incorporated.

[Published in Proceedings of the Royal Society, 1901].
