Description

Sectional Committee: Mathematics

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, with reproductions of all the illustrations, though the irrelevant details of the photographs might be omitted. He has had some difficulty in bearing in mind the distinction between 'degree' and 'order' and suggests an alternative. The paper is likely to interest biologists and other who are not professed mathematicians; this fact has partly influenced him in making the above recommendation.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions A, 1901].

Endorsed on verso as received 18 March 1901.
