Referee's report by Thomas George Bond Howes, on a paper 'The anatomy of symmetrical double monstrosities in the trout' by James Fairlie Gemmill

Reference number: RR/15/196

Date: 25 April 1901

Description

Sectional Committee: Zoology

Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. If published at all it might only be in a much curtailed and totally re-written form in the Proceedings. Pages six to 14 for instance are wholly superfluous. Provides a list of manuscript notes under the following headings: literature, illustrations, terminology and style. The paper does not appear to Howes to be of sufficient importance to justify the expenditure which would be entailed in its publication. Condensed to the maximum and treated organologically with the descriptions being confined to organs, the paper might be worthy of an anatomical journal, but not the publications of the Royal Society.
