Description

He never entertained the thought that the paper could be published in Philosophical Transactions and was not aware that Langley was communicating the paper partly for this reason. All he wanted was money to pay for the plates so that the paper could be published in the Journal of Physiology. The publication of the abstract of the paper in Proceedings surprised him. He has previously asked the Royal Society to consult Langley about publication of the abstract. This letter should be forwarded to the secretaries.
