Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Some of the facts may be well known, but does not think they have previously been published. Refers to work of Berliner [?] and Pierre Eugène Marcellin Berthelot. Suggests the paper be printed in the same format as an earlier one by Thomas Graham, as his results have been confirmed by the current paper.
