Referee's report by George Gabriel Stokes, on two papers 'An instrument for grinding section-plates and prisms of crystals of artificial preparations accurately in the desired directions' and 'An Instrument of precision for producing monochromatic light of any desired wave-length, and its use in the investigation of the optical properties of crystals' by Alfred Edwin Howard Tutton

Reference number: RR/12/256

Date: 12 April 1894

Description

Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. The Royal Society does not usually publish reports on new instruments, unless they are particularly elaborate or expensive. The current instruments fit these criteria. The instrument parts should be more clearly referred to, either in the paper or by reference to other papers.
