Letter from David Salomons, to John William Sturtt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh, regarding a paper 'On some phenomena in vacuum-tubes' by David Salomons

Reference number: RR/12/228

Date: 09 March 1894

Description

Does not think the referee has seen the experiments, 'and I think they would surprise him, were he to do so'. Has conducted further experiments, and thinks it would be best to withdraw the paper in order to insert the new findings, then resubmit the paper. Refers to William Henry Spottiswoode, and their discussions of vacuum tubes. Requests clarification regarding the publication of materials previously shown in public; would material shown before the Royal Society be an exception?
