Description

Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. There is 'much that is interesting', but the paper is better suited to publication in a Royal Asiatic Society journal than the Royal Society one. The paper submitted describes a Sanskrit treatise on astronomy, the Surya Siddhanta or Sun treatise, dated from the Gupta era.
