Referee's report by George Howard Darwin, on a paper 'Some anomalies in the winds of Northern India, and their relation to the distribution of barometric pressure' by S A Hill
Reference number: RR/10/49
Date: 19 May 1887
Description
Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Does not find the criticisms of Richard Strachey to be justified [RR/10/47]. The paper is difficult to review and criticise without knowledge of the region's topography, geography, or access to the Memoirs of the Indian Meteorological Department. Finds it regrettable that the paper has been offered to the Royal Society. Suggests perhaps the author be asked to withdraw the paper, and submit instead to the Memoirs of the Indian Meteorological Department. If the author declines, or cannot withdraw the paper, then the paper should be printed in the Philosophical Transactions.
