Dr Papin's experiments to preserve fruit in 'gelly'

Description
That most fruit kept in 'gelly' gave off a smell although tasted fine - that Papin was going to experiment by boiling 'in vacuo' which had preserved the smell and taste of the juice of cherries, which the Fellows had approved on 18 November - that Papin had brought in some apple juice and beer 'in vacuo' since 6 December
Also details of carrying out Robert Boyle's experiment of firing gunpowder 'in vacuo'
