Fair copies of scientific papers submitted to the Royal Society, transcribed to establish their precedence for a particular discovery or idea.

This volume was temporarily mislaid and then recovered, but not before a replacement had been made - see RBO/2ii. Note reads: 'This Second Register being the True Original having been lost ever since before Mr Oldenburghs Death was found and Retrieved by Dr Sloane RS Sec in Apr 1703 for which great piece of service he had the hearty thankes of the R Soc. There being 23 Discourses and Experiments enter'd in this wanting in the other Register ... but two in the other wanting in this...'
