Figures 1-7 (labelled here as figures 1-6, with figures 4 and 5 both being labelled as figure 5) showing glass cylinders, glass globes, and apparatuses for testing the resistance of these glass objects. Inscribed with publication and plate details. On verso is a printed sheet of the list of candidates recommended by the Council for election to the Royal Society, dated 5 May 1859 at Burlington House [London]. Not signed. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.
