Figures 1-7 showing details of a spring compression apparatus, a thermo-multiplier, and a stretching weight apparatus used in Joule's experiments on the thermodynamic properties of solids. Inscribed with publication and plate details. Figures drawn separately and pasted onto backing sheet. A series of struck-out watercolour drawings appearing to show zoological figures visible verso. Not signed. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.
