Description

Plates intended for publication in various papers published in volume 132 of Philosophical Transactions. The plates have been removed from their associated manuscripts. Published plates were engraved by the Basire family.

The plates correspond to the following papers:
'On the structure and use of the Malpighian bodies of the kidney, with observations on the circulation through that gland' by William Bowman;
'On fibre' by Martin Barry;
'On the action of the rays of the solar spectrum on vegetable colours, and on some new photographic processes' by John Frederick William Herschel; and
'On the organic tissues in the bony structure of the Corallidæ' by James Scott Bowerbank.
