Description

Plate 21, figures 7-16 showing details of the anatomy of the Bowerbankia densa, a type of polyzoan polyp, including the gizzard, pharynx, operculum, parietal muscles, and possible ova. Figures drawn separately and pasted onto a single backing board. Inscribed recto and verso with publication and plate details. An ink inscription above reads 'Ciliobrachiata' and another inscription below the figures reads 'Bowerbankia densa'. Signed bottom right 'Arthur Farre del' and below 'March 1836'. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.

Published in Philosophical Transactions as part of paper titled 'Observations on the minute structure of some of the higher forms of polypi, with views of a more natural arrangement of the class' by Arthur Farre.

Received by the Royal Society on 11 May 1837. Read 8 and 15 June 1837.
