Description

Plate 39 containing two charts illustrating the projection of the errors of a thermometer made by Troughton and the projection of the errors of a thermometer made by Crichton. A graphite inscription top left reads 'See page 21.' Inscribed with publication and plate details verso. Two ink inscriptions verso read 'Professor Forbes' and 'Diagram belonging to Mr Forbes' paper.' Not signed. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.

Published in Philosophical Transactions as part of paper titled 'On the temperatures and geological relations of certain hot springs, particularly those of the Pyrenees; and on the of verification of thermometers' by James David Forbes.

Received by the Royal Society on 17 February 1836. Read 24 March 1836.
