Description

Plate 13, figure 7; plate 16, figures 35 and 37-39; and plate 17, figures 43-48 showing parts of the nervous system of the adult state of the Sphinx ligustri, the Papilio io [Aglais io; peacock butterfly], the Gryllus viridissimus, the Carabus monilis [necklace ground beetle], and the Scolopendra morsitans [Tanzanian blue ringleg]. Inscribed with publication and plate details. Signed in graphite bottom left 'G. Newport 1833 & 34'. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.

Subject: Zoology / Entomology

Published in Philosophical Transactions as part of paper titled 'On the nervous system of the Sphinx ligustri, Linn., (Part II.) during the latter stages of its pupa and its Imago state; and on the means by which its development is effected' by George Newport.

Received by the Royal Society on 6 March 1834. Read 19 June 1834.
