Plate 38 containing three figures showing the egg at fourteen days' development with the embryo opened to show the principal blood vessels and their connection to the yolk sac. With publication and plate details inscribed. Signed lower left 'Franz Bauer'. Royal Society stamp verso. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.

Subject: Zoology / Physiology

Published in Philosophical Transactions as part of paper titled 'Observations on the changes the egg undergoes during incubation in the common fowl, illustrated by microscopical drawings' by Everard Home.

Read to the Royal Society on 16 May 1822.
