Plate 15 containing three figures showing an arrangement for keeping a candle flame alight in coal mines without the risk of fire damp explosion. The work is inscribed above with publication and plate details. Signed 'I. Farey delin' [John Farey junior (1791-1851)]. Royal Society stamp verso.

Published in Philosophical Transactions as part of paper titled 'On the means of procuring a steady light in coal mines without the danger of explosions' by William Reid Clanny.

Read to the Royal Society on 20 May 1813.
