Plate 20, figures 1-12 showing the overall design and specific components of Jacob Perkins' machine for compressing water. Inscribed with publication and plate details. A pencil inscription at top reads 'There is also another which Mr P [Perkins] has had engraved already.' Signed in ink in bottom left, 'Drawn by W. Rutt.' Royal Society stamp verso.

Published in Philosophical Transactions as part of paper titled 'On the progressive compression of water by high degrees of force, with some trials of its effects on other fluids' by Jacob Perkins.
