Description
The first of two volumes containing the manuscript versions of papers published by the Royal Society in volume 155 of Philosophical Transactions in 1865. This volume comprises papers IX-XVII.
The volume also includes some original illustrations and figures in various media (drawings, watercolours) in support of the papers.
Missing from this volume are manuscripts for the following papers:
'On the sextactic points of a plane curve' by Arthur Cayley; and
'On the marsupial pouches, mammary glands, and mammary fœtus of the Echidna hystrix' by Richard Owen [plates are present].
