The third of four volumes containing the manuscript versions of papers published by the Royal Society in volume 147 of Philosophical Transactions in 1857. This volume comprises papers XIV-XXIX

Also includes some original illustrations and figures in drawn in ink in support of the papers.

Missing from this volume is the manuscript for the following paper:
'On the immediate principles of human excrements in the healthy state' by William Marcet.
