Paper, 'Second series of results of the harmonic analysis of tidal observations' by G H [George Howard] Darwin

Reference number: PP/13/36

Date: 1889

Description

Darwin writes: 'A collection of results by Major [Andrew Wilson] Baird and myself has been already published in the ‘Proceedings of the Royal Society,’ No. 239,1885; and the present paper brings together new results which 1 have been able to collect since the date of that paper. I begin with some remarks on the sources of information, and on the observations at each station. A table of the latitudes and longitudes of the places of observation is prefixed to those of the harmonic constants.' For the first series of results produced by Darwin and Baird, see volume 39 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society, 'Results of the harmonic analysis of tidal observations'.

Annotations in pencil and ink.
